This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered a collar like this. The 1st one works well we order another for our other dog. A great training tool and keeping dog in the yard, knowing when they’ve gone too far (outside the boundary set)The only downside is having to remember to charge both the collar and the remote about once a week.

This is just what we needed for our stubborn husky; improper USB C implementation.
I ordered this training collar reluctantly because I’ve never needed one in the past with our dogs. But, we have huskies now, and they are ridiculously stubborn and love to escape. We have made a lot of progress, but when out 2-year sees an opportunity to jump the fence or escape the leash, she will always take it. She does marathon training with my wife, so she is pretty used to high mileage runs and that means she can keep us chasing her all day if she wants. I don’t particularly enjoy searching the neighborhood for her, but the bigger issue is her safety with all the cars. She is stubborn enough that once she is gone, it’s too late to do much. What we hope to do with the collar, with a combination of the tones, vibration, and if necessary shock, is get her to a point where she doesn’t immediately take the escape opportunity. We will see how it goes. It’s my first training collar, so I’m no expert here. I tried it out with all the settings on myself to see what the experience would be. The next step will be reading up on a training program.That said, all of the functions of the collar were tested, and everything worked well. The huskies have thick coats, so I am hoping it isn’t a problem keeping good contact, but I’m not sure how that would be any different with any other shock collar. The range was sufficient for our needs. (I didn’t test it out to maximum, just our yard length.) I like that the vibration frequency can be adjusted. It should help to get locked in on an optimal setting that the dogs notice. The tone selection is good. The remote makes sense and is easy to use, and both the remote and the collar can be powered off separately. Overall it seems like a good product. The shock function worked as expected on my leg. The collar is not too bulky and the remote fits easily into a pocket, but also comes with a lanyard strap to make sure it doesn’t get lost. Oh, and the little built in flashlight is a nice addition if we are on walk when it is dark and need bag up a poo deposit.The one big negative with the product is that it uses an improper implementation of USB-C for charging. It will not charge on a fully compliant USB C charger. It doesn’t have the needed circuitry to negotiate power. It’s basically just a physical USB C connector attached to a legacy USB system that just wants 5v there all the time. (Proper USB C sends nothing until properly negotiated between power adapter and device.) That means you have to use a USB A to C cable (which is included) in order to charge it. This is a major hang up for me. I have USB C chargers in every room of my house, and they power our phones, tablets, and laptops–but they won’t charge this collar. I have to go dig out an old USB A charger just for this. I’m all for having USB C on everything, but if it isn’t implemented properly on the device there’s no point of putting it on. Had it just been a micro USB connector, I could have at least used a USB C to micro USB adapter on the end of my existing charger and cable. The only reason for a manufacturer to do it the way they did is to save a tiny amount of money by using a non-compliant setup, and it loses a star on this.Other than that complaint, it works as it should. We will see how well the training goes. I don’t anticipate any issues being due to the product; if we do run in to any problems, I’ll update the review. But now it’s just a matter of getting a good training plan in place and using the collar as another tool in the lineup to modify behavior and help keep the pups safe.

The best
This is the best collor I found, I’ve bought it twice. The first time it lasted a couple years and then I replaced it because the normal wear and tear. Recently bought one that I thought was an upgrade of this one, but it was garbage so I re-purchased this and it’s perfect. My beagle who’s an escape artist knows to stay in range. I love how the remote lets me know if he gets out of range.

So far so good. I’m impressed with the ease of use of this and how clear the instructions are. So often, you purchase an electronic like this and the instructions are incredibly vague. Not in this case. It walks you through every setting and variation and that is a huge help. I haven’t had to use the “static” correction on my dog yet because the vibration is very powerful and thus far has garnered her attention efficiently. Please, don’t just open the box and use this blindly. If you don’t have a strong understanding of how to use a training collar like this, you could easily injure your puppers or cause them to not understand what you are wanting which will then make the training regress. There are tons of videos out there to help you learn how to use a collar like this and the instructions included with this product tell you how to use it’s features specifically. Please, educate yourself thoroughly before you just hop in to it. I was working with my German Shepherd with this collar and she was at a dead run after a ball. The ball ran out in to the road as a car was coming. I had the remote hanging from the strap attached to my wrist. In one swift motion I swung the remote into my had, hit the beep button, then the vibrate button and she stopped in her tracks. The ball is flat but my girl isn’t. She has a very high prey drive and yelling her name doesn’t get her attention, this did.

Decent, Safe Training Tool
The thing I like best about this collar is that it gives you the choice of sound, vibration, or shock. Personally, I don’t even bother with the shock feature and leave the protective rubber covers over the probes to avoid accidental shocks. I did test the shock feature on my arm and at its maximum setting it does have quite a bite to it and will definitely get a dogs attention, but that feature is up to you and your personal training regimen for your dog. I find that the sound function works the best because the vibration feature is pretty weak. Unless you have the collar very tight, the vibration might not even be felt by your dog. The sound function though has four different sounds that are activated depending on which direction you press the four-way keypad. Unless my problem child Aussie is barking his head off at full volume, he hears and responds to the sounds quite well.Overall, it is a good, gentle training tool and I got good results on the first day with a little positive reinforcement. The range is great, the battery life is very good and I am very satisfied with the collar as it works very well.
