My cat loves it
This Blue Buffalo Wilderness cat food is a big hit with my cat. She loves the taste, and I’ve noticed her coat looks shinier and healthier. I like that it’s high in protein and grain-free, with quality ingredients I can trust.

Great as treats and as food – softer fur!!!
My cats REALLY love the greenies salmon treats, and they also were only eating the Hills science diet chicken cat food.I wanted to find a food that was more like their treats since it seemed like they weren’t really interested in their food anymore.When I compared the ingredients from the greenies to this food, it was a pretty similar breakdown, and also salmon flavored, so I bought a bag as a tester.When I first opened it I was disappointed in how tiny the shapes are – they are really small shapes for adult cats IMO but I was like, maybe the cats won’t mind.So I first mixed some of the food in with the greenies treats, and it took one cat a few days to eat it, but then he trusted it and started eating it as a treat without hesitation. My other cat ate it up right away!Anyhow the cats loved it so much in their treats and were still less interested in their regular food, even though it was obvious that they liked the big shapes and liked crunching on them. (One cat in particular likes to be petted while eating, and he’s always turn around and smile after crunching)So I decided to mix this salmon food into their chicken food, to help them eat more food and less treats.And it worked!! They were eating more regularly and when they wanted treats, their meows were much less desperate sounding.So for a month I kept testing out this salmon food vs greenies as a treat, and honestly they still love their greenies but they LOVE this food as a treat and will eat it plain now, without any greenies.In fact, they wanted to eat it so much I ran out of the salmon food, and had a week of lag time between my subscriptions and they were so impatient.Anyhow! The most interesting thing about this month testing period was: I started noticing mood differences in one of my cats.He used to be pretty cranky, or maybe just frustrated. He would act like he wanted to be pet, but if you pet more than just around his fur – like along his back – he started to get frustrated and flick his tail, then snap. I honestly thought it was his personality, and just tried to be more verbally friendly instead of petting him.His fur also looked beautiful, he is an immaculate groomer anyway, and it always kind of stood out away from his body and smelled so good – kindof like straw. Like a nice, dry, warm earthy smell.So as the month progressed with this food as treats etc, I noticed his mood changed and he seemed to want to snuggle more and get more pets.It started slowly, but it was definitely noticeable.And eventually I started to put it together, when I noticed he wasn’t smelling like straw anymore, and his fur was looking sleeker.!! I think he needed more oil I’m his diet, and I think his little furs and skin were just sensitive!!!Because now his fur is tremendously soft, and I can pet him for , maybe almost 5 minutes? And he doesn’t flick his tail anymore!! He seems so much happier too, just generally less agitated.So that’s the long story.What I’ve determined in this test is: the tiny shapes from Blue are perfect when mixed with the bigger shapes from the Hills brand. Both of my cats eat their food on their own now, and without hesitation.They still like treats time, but it’s much less demanding than before, and they don’t seem to mind if they only get treatsed 4 times a day.They LOVE this food on its own now, when I use it as treats, but they especially love it when just a couple of pieces of greenies are placed on top.I’m happy because now my subscriptions for all the products are in sync, and my mix ratio (pictured) is perfect for my cats and my budget.SUPER happy I found this food.Love you guys wanted to share the whole story because it’s so much more than just the food.

Blue Buffalo dry, cat food good product
I cannot speak for it personally, but the stray cats that live around here I made a mistake and started feeding them now they’re here twice a day once in the morning once in the evening, waiting at the my back door for to eat.

1 “con,” the Rest is Amazing. Please Read!
I switched to this brand when Purina bought out Merrick. The moment Merrick was bought out, the cat we had got very sick. He had all sorts of sudden issues. I am so happy we changed to this!! I have kittens, as well, now. This food has one con, and the rest of it is all 100% positive. And the “con” is really not bad enough to take a star away, so 5 stars, regardless!Let’s start with the ONLY con there is.Con: The salmon flavor makes the kittens’ breath smell like a dead fish all of the time, but all the other flavors of this brand do not do that. I just had my cats seen at the vet and the vet said this food is the real deal. It is made, truly, with real and pure ingredients, so it will smell very organic with whatever they eat. She said their mouths and GI tracts are fine (had them checked because their breath was so awful smelling!). I called them names like tuna tongue or salmon suck, lovingly, of course. We are going back to duck, chicken, or red meat flavors after this. Whew.Pros: Everything. Our 6 yr old Mainecoon cat acted like a kitten again, once on this food. The kittens are always hyped, but they have been healthy and they have muscle. I see people’s cats grow up and get flabby. No, not with this. This makes them lean, and STRONG. I have a Bengal mix that will move things that I thought would be impossible for him. The older cat’s fur became silky, soft, and shiny after a few months. The kittens, going on 1 yr, have the softest fur I’ve ever felt on cats. None of them have ever had a hairball on this food. Ever. Or diarrhea. I’d never feed my cats or dogs anything else.This food is what real pet owners feed their pets. It will give your pet a longer life span, a healthier and more energetic life, and I assure you, you will not be sorry. It feels great knowing you are giving them truly the BEST! Please watch out for brands that claim healthy. If you can buy it at Wal-Mart, it’s garbage. Grain free does not equal good for pet. Read the ingredients. Make sure it says ingredients listed are from, and made, in USA. If it says it is just cooked in USA, it is from China and could be horrid. Cooked and made in USA are so different. And remember, Merrick was bought by Purina. This change has been noticed if you read reviews. I would not trust them with my pets. You will LOVE this food! And so will your pets!

Our Cat Really Does Love This Brand
In search of variety, we tried several other quality brands but have come back home to Blue Buffalo and our cat says this is still her favorite!We came back to Blue because our cat was having urinary issues on the other brands prompting our vet to suggest we try going back to what she was eating before. Haven’t had any problems since, plus she really does love Blue.
