Good quality, easy to use
I liked my first one enough to buy a second. Easy and intuitive to use, including temporary lock and release. It feels equally appropriate for my 17-pound and my 80-pound dogs. Recommended.

I’ve been through four retractable leashes in two years with my 45-pound pit mix who thinks every walk is a race. This TUG Quest has lasted several months with zero issues – that’s a record in our house.The 360-degree swivel is the real hero here. My dog loves to circle trees, posts, and my legs, and with other retractables, I’d spend half our walk untangling. This one just spins smoothly no matter how many times she loops around. Yesterday she did three full circles around a fire hydrant and the tape never kinked or jammed.The tape itself feels substantially thicker than my previous leashes. It’s survived being dragged across concrete when she spotted a squirrel, and there’s no fraying yet. The 16-foot length is perfect for our neighborhood walks – enough freedom for her to sniff around but not so much that she can dart into the street.The brake mechanism is smooth and responsive. I have small hands and can easily control it one-handed while holding coffee or poop bags in the other. The lock clicks firmly into place – no gradual slipping like my old Flexi leash. When a bigger dog approaches, I can reel her in and lock it at 3 feet instantly.The cream color looks nice and doesn’t show dirt as much as I expected. The handle is comfortable even on our hour-long morning walks, with a rubberized grip that doesn’t slip when my hands get sweaty.Minor note – it’s slightly heavier than basic retractables, but the solid construction is worth the extra few ounces. Also, the retraction spring is strong, so keep a good grip when unlocking or it’ll zip back fast.Best $30 I’ve spent on dog gear. My neighbor already bought one after seeing how mine handles her dog’s chaotic energy. If you have a medium-sized dog who’s active but not a total maniac, this leash is perfect.

Package arrived undamaged and contained all the items identified on the product page.When you first grab it this leash seems a bit light weight, a little lighter than another retractable we have. Lighter isn’t bad as long as it functions as it is suppose to and so far this leash has, being lighter just means it’s less weight to carry. To be fair we are using it with a dog that is slightly over the recommended max weight (60lbs) but so far it hasn’t been a problem at all. While our dog is fairly light, he does pull like a 100lb dog though.The leash locking mechanism seems to be different for every leash, this one has a little button you flick upward to maintain the lock. A bit awkward at first until you get use to it. When you do lock it the extension stops quickly and holds well. The grip fits in both our hands and is easy to hold onto, even when the dog is trying really hard to pull you down the street because he saw a squirrel. Extraction and retraction if very smooth and the swivel clip is a must since the dog is constantly left then right that behind then ahead, without that swivel head the tape would get so tangled it wouldn’t be funny.Overall have had a really good experience with this leash. Not recommended by the seller for anything over 55lbs but it has been working fine with a 60lb dog for us

I’ve been using the old traditional style leashes for as long as I can remember, totally oblivious to the technological advancements in the retractable dog leash world, that has allowed us to have retractable dog leashes like this TUG Quest leash.The old traditional leash for my small Bishon Friese has become too old and freyed, so I decided to give one of these retractable leashes a try, and now I’m kicking myself for not getting this sooner. Everything about this leash is better than the old one. It takes up very little room when stored, and you don’t have to untangle it every time you pick it up. It’s very comfortable to hold in the hand, and is extremely easy to control the length of the leash with smooth operation, just with the press of a button, which is also lockable with the second button – and it can all be done with the same one hand. It’s very convenient. I also love that now I can give my dog all 16 feet of the length of the leash, which is more than enough for him to have the freedom to run around and not constantly be tugged back.Many years ago, I had used one of the older retractable leashes, which had the thin wire type of leash inside it – that thing was a nightmare to untangle, especially from around the dogs legs, that was one of the reasons why I stopped using that leash at the time. The 360 degree Tangle free retraction on this leash however is no joke, the flat style design definitely helps with keeping everything tangle free, so that your dog can keep running around without constant interruption.The build quality of this unit is excellent, with all parts looking and feeling like they are made of quality materials. I can’t think of anything critical to say about this leash – its light years better than the old traditional flimsy leash I had before.

This is a straightforward, no non-sense, well-built retractable dog leash. A retractable leash is way better than using a fixed length lease with no retraction – it gives the dog/cat a bit more freedom while also being able to safely stop them from getting up to any mischief. This leash easily clips onto your pet’s harness, and the handle is ergonomic so it’s comfortable to hold. The stop & lock buttons are easy to press and use, they are pretty large and responsive. The string/leash that comes out of the unit is more of a tape style leash, which seems more durable than the strings on my other retractable leashes. It retracts smoothly and operates as expected in that regard. It’s not super lightweight or slim.. it’s about the average weight for a retractable dog leash. I do find the handle portion a little big for my hands, I would have liked it to be smaller. I really like the cream color, it makes it look more premium and it’s a bit more of a unique look than comparable leashes on the market!

This is the most elegant leash I ever acquired !The design is neat and simple and the material feels strong and solid.I can easily loosen and retrack the tape to control my dog’s distance. The lock and unlock buttons are pretty intuitive to figure out.It comes in a nice box with pictures and instructions. You can sense that this product was created with though and quality materiel.The handle is confortable to hold, it might be a little big for my hand when I try to push a stroller and hold the leash. The handle is big enough to hold and add a poop bag carrier. This allows me to have my bags close by and ready to use.There is one detail that is missing that I would have love to see, they haven’t added into the design any reflective bands. It is quite useful during evening or night walks.Beside that detail everything else is perfect, I totally recommend this leash for you and your dog to enjoy a great walk.

I’ve been using this type of leash for a few years now, and overall I’m really happy with it. This 16-foot nylon tape gives my dog plenty of room to explore, and the 360° tangle-free retraction actually works — no knots or twists so far. The one-hand brake and lock are super easy to use, and the handle feels comfortable even on longer walks.The leash itself feels sturdy and retracts smoothly every time.My only minor complaint is that the leash housing is a bit heavier than expected, and I’ll be keeping an eye on the nylon tape for fraying over time.Overall, it’s a well-designed, reliable retractable leash that gives both me and my dog more freedom on our walks. Definitely recommend for medium-sized dogs that are good on leash!
