Cats love this
We have number of “neighborhood” cats that my wife takes care of. We have a number of shelters for them to use in the winter. I got tired of replacing heat lamps in the winter plus the hassle of picking up the glass when they break. I started using these things and haven’t looked back. They work just as well as a heat lamp and last much longer.

Not as hot as a bulb, but much safer
We got this for our chicken coop. It does put out a decent bit of heat, but not as much as a bulb. I do like that it’s much sturdier though and it won’t shatter if something happens like a bulb would.

Worked great
We ordered / used this heat lamp instead of the heat / light lamp sold at the feed store to keep our baby chics warm. It did a great job, and since it puts out heat without light, it didn’t keep them awake at night. It did need to be a bit closer to them than the light in order for the heat to reach them (maybe a wattage issue), it did not seem to provide as much heat as it stated, but it worked for waht we needed. We only needed to use it for a few weeks until the chics were old enough to go out in their coop, so can’t speak to the longevity of it.

Worked really well out in the chicken coop this winter.You do need some sort of heat shield for safety though.It does get hot like 275 + degrees F.
