Functional and durable
This dog GPS tracker is fantastic! The real-time tracking is fast and accurate, and I love how easy it is to use with the mobile app. The smart alerts and geo-fence feature give me real peace of mind, especially when my dog is playing off-leash. It fits perfectly on the collar, feels durable, and the waterproof design is a huge plus. The battery life lasts impressively long, and setup with the built-in SIM was simple. Totally worth the subscription for the safety — highly recommended!

Accurate tracking and amazing customer service
This tracker is amazing. I have owned a Petloc8 for more that 7 months now and use it every day. it uses GPS and Wi-Fi to track, and goes where the Apple Air products fail because it does not rely on other nearby users to pinpoint/triangulate the pet location.My cat “lost” its first tracker ( I know exactly where that 1st tracker is, it it just not retrievable!) and purchased a replacement. I used the “contact support” found on the app, and received a quick response. The support team at Petloc8 rolled the remaining subscription from the 1st device onto the 2nd AND they followed up not once but twice to be sure everything went smoothly and I was satisfied. This product allows me to set up WiFi zones and Geofences that will alert me when the pet has crossed out of (or into) predefined areas and is small enough for my 9 pound cat to wear. Battery life has not been a problem, I don’t know how long it would last between charges, as we take the collar off every nightThe Petloc8 Mini has exceeded my expectations I can at anytime pinpoint exactly where my cat is exploring and the tracker is small enough he does not seem to notice. if you live in a rural area this tracker is by far the most accurate I have tried and has been well worth the subscription

Let me preface this review by saying that for the last 25 years I have used GPS as heavily in my work. Not just a handheld GPS but writing code to use the GPS strings coming from OEM devices. I would consider myself an expert in GPSs.I’m rewriting this review as I have had some time to use this device. If I were you I would not buy this device.This device relies very very heavily on cell towers to triangulate your position which is inherently inaccurate as compared to a GPS only based system. The claim of GPS tracker is truly disingenuous.The GPS in this device is so lousy that placed on top of a tripod with nothing blocking it facing the sky (SEE IMAGES:both right side up and upside down as I don’t know what direction the common GPS antenna is pointing) it hasn’t been able to grab a GPS signal and over 2 hours.To make matters worse I live in a rural location and there is only one cell tower that is serving the area. That means it’s unable to triangulate its position based on the cell tower so I almost always get location based on what the cell tower can calculate which is 3 mi from my house and is completely unrealistic.The area of error that is shown in the bigger circle around the dot is completely inaccurate. When I do get GPS coverage which is almost never, it reports the position but the position is accurate to maybe 50 yds.This device is a true waste of your money and the advertising of GPS as it’s location system is a lie. This is a piece of junk.The picture shows the line between my home and where it thinks my cat is. The problem is I’m looking at him out my window when I captured the screenshot.

Good Tracker
The tracker was easy to setup and it is fairly accurate when I need to find my cat Tito. I would highly recommend getting this tracker because of the ease of setting it up as well as working the app. The only issue I have that is if you go to live tracking mode make sure to be cautious to turn it off after your pet is found otherwise your battery will drain fast. The battery was at 100% and I turned it off because the tracker was taking longer than normal. I checked the battery and it was at 90%. The time lapsed was only 1-2 minutes. Other than that, it works fine, I would have given it five stars, but I find that the battery is a big issue.

Awesome dog GPS tracker!
I love this GPS tracker! It’s super easy to set up and gives me peace of mind knowing exactly where my dog is at all times. The app works great, and the battery lasts for days. It’s lightweight, waterproof, and perfect for our walks and trips. Totally worth it!

Overall good but with one HUGE WARNING
BIG WARNING BELOW! So overall the product is fine. It isnt a world class tracker but it does the job and you can pay month to month for the tracking membership which is required. Other trackers I have had you need to get 6 months or a year pre paid and they are pricey. We were just moved and needed one for out outdoor cat so the product didn’t need to be incredible but just generally good enough to keep tabs on him. For that it works fine! It is a little glitchy and slow to update sometimes but overall good.The HUGE WARNING…. there a battery saver mode which uses wifi to help conserve battery. Never ever use this option. My tracker was froze and was not updating location for 8 hours. When I called customer support they said “that battery saver mode does that and they really wish the packaging made that more clear.” The only solution was to reset the tracker that was on a cat…the same cat that was lost! Luckily the cat just came back anyways and it worked out but I don’t even get why the battery saver option is on there if that is a possibility.But again….overall the product works and depending on why you are using it could be great.

Had a problem with silicone attachments breaking due to my dog being a field dog and being rough on them. The chat bot wasn’t great but customer service contacted me and Jarod took care of everything and mailed me out new ones. Impressed they called. Customer service 5 starts for that. Thanks PetCo!

Shocking customer service and product. Don’t waste your money with this product. The geofence, which is the main reason I got the tracker, doesn’t work. The minimum area is over 165 yards which is huge for a residential backyard. And I spent hours trying to get notifications for when the tracker left the geofence. The tracker takes up to 20 minutes to update its location and then still doesn’t notify when the pet has left the geofence.I spent hours trying to contact support and when through resets and every possible fix with nothing working. Was told the issue would be passed onto the higher ups and then just never heard anything. Also the customer support bot is the most useless thing on the app. Constantly asking for the device id and then saying ‘ Oops! Couldn’t get that, am a new bot in town and learning with time.You can try rephrasing your question”.My questions were simple like how can I cancel my subscription and can I speak with a team member. There is also no way on the app to cancel your subscription and so the circles continue. DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU WANT UNLIMITED HEADACHES.
