Worth Every Penny — My Cats and I Love It!
i was a little skeptical about spending this much on an automated litter box, but it has been absolutely worth it. The setup was simple, and my cats started using it almost immediately — no hesitation at all.One of the best things is how well it contains the smell. Even with multiple cats, there’s no lingering odor anymore, and the whole area stays fresh. It’s also surprisingly quiet when it runs — just a soft hum that doesn’t startle the cats or disturb the house.Emptying it is quick and mess-free, and cleaning it takes a fraction of the time compared to a regular litter box. Everything about this design feels thoughtful and convenient. If you’re tired of scooping daily or dealing with litter box smells, this is the best investment you can make for both you and your cats. Highly recommend!

Clean and odorless, even with 2 cats
I couldn’t be happier with the PetSafe ScoopFree SmartSpin Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box! This product has completely transformed my cat care routine. The automatic cleaning feature is a game changer—no more daily scooping, and the rotating design keeps everything fresh and tidy without any effort on my part. The odor control is fantastic, too. Even with multiple cats, the area around the litter box stays surprisingly odor-free. It’s also quiet, sleek, and doesn’t scare my more skittish cat, which is a huge plus. I love being able to check everything from the app, including when it’s time to change the tray. It’s clear PetSafe put a lot of thought into making this easy to use and reliable. This litter box is worth every penny for the convenience and cleanliness it brings to our home! It’s functional and sturdy.

I ignored the naysayers and think you should too
I genuinely bought this litter box under a thick veil of skepticism because of the pretty mixed reviews. I am SO GLAD I chose to get it. I’ve had cats my whole life and this is the first self-cleaning litter box I’ve ever owned. The ease is unmatched. My current cat is a little 10-week-old kitten so I don’t have the auto feature on, but I run it a few times a day manually and it’s been working flawlessly. Also had to put a box in front of it as it’s pretty tall!My only complaint so far is that the soiled litter is sticking to the silicone insert at the bottom. I’m hopeful that will stop once I’m putting more litter in there as Sonny gets bigger. He took to using it without hesitation and I catch him playing inside it often, lol.Again, thrilled with this one. Easy to assemble and get connected. Even easier to clean and keep it such. SO HAPPY.

Definitely not worth the money
If I could return this thing, I would. I’ve had it for less than 3 months. I could NOT get the app to work.Putting it together was okay, not great, but okay. My cats didn’t have any trouble getting use to it.The design needs some serious improvement. The bottom rubber piece that the litter sits on is super sticky. In order to clean it, I’ve had to drag it outside and use my PRESSURE WASHER because scrubbing isn’t enough. As it spins, the poop and pee clumps sometimes fall between the middle drum and the outside piece so it just sits there until you lift up the outside piece. It also can smear around the inside of the drum as it turns, but then if a piece is stuck between, it will smear on the outside of the main drum as well and you’ll not know until you clean the whole thing. The buttons are directly under the entrance of the box, so when the cat goes in and out, they are dragging litter across the buttons or pawing dirty litter out onto those buttons. One of the buttons is already stuck. The odor control is okay, but not the greatest. It doesn’t seal very well and the odor block in the box does practically nothing. The only win I could find was that a typical grocery bag can fit in the trash bin so that you don’t HAVE to buy the branded trash bins. In fact, odor control was better when I layered the grocery bags because the fluffed up plastic creates a better seal around the bottom.

Amazing product that made my life scoop-free
I bought another PetSafe automatic litter box for my second property and it is absolutely one of the best. It has completely changed how we deal with litter. My wife has two cats, and before this, she was cleaning constantly and still fighting with odor (laundry room was not a pleasant place to be). However, now everything stays fresh, and that area doesn’t smell like a litter box anymore even with both(!) cats using it. One of them diabetic, so he visits it even more often than a normal cat would. The setup was super simple and took maybe 10 minutes, thanks to the detailed guidance provided. I love that it connects to the app so I can keep track of when the cats go and when it’s time to change the tray. The best part of it is I can track how many times my diabetic cat goes in to confirm if everything is good or maybe we need to check his blood sugar level. The machine runs quietly, I barely notice it and the modern design doesn’t look out of place – it can be placed anywhere in the house. I change the waste bag about once a week (because my diabetic cat uses it more often), and it’s so much easier (and cleaner) than scooping every day. Plus, it actually uses less litter than my old boxes, which definitely offsets the device cost a bit.Overall, it’s an investment, but absolutely worth it for the time and cleanliness. I just wish we bought it sooner!!

My cat poops as if he were a grown man instead of a regular-sized tri-pawd cat. Scooping his litter was so easy to neglect because of the stench and wanting to be far away from it.. And now I can leave the task for just about 2 weeks! He has always adjusted well and quickly to new litter boxes or actual litter, and he was keen to start using this one. I let his old litterbox get filthy so he had a transition period, but I don’t know if he really needed it.It’s a good size for my small laundry room, and my cat doesn’t struggle climbing into it despite missing a hind leg. It’s a bit of an adjustment learning to clean it, but I’ve had it for just about a month and recently completed the first deep clean. It is a little annoying to take apart for the big clean, but I switched crystal litter to clumping litter hoping I can reduce the frequency of the deep clean. I have a hard time finding replacement deodorizers, but so far I haven’t found a huge difference going without them. The app is handy too, lots of how-to threads to help when things aren’t working right (for me, that was not remembering how to turn on add litter mode.)Highly recommend, I’d rather have an infrequent deep clean than scooping every day. I am happier because of this!

Incredible, worth every penny. Love it so much and my cat adapted so quickly .

Not even once have I been able to activate the add litter function. I followed the instructions, but holding the button for any length of time has zero effect. This leads to the litterbox always falsely sensing a cat inside. The only way to fix it at that point is to unplug it and plug it back in, causing it to lose every setting. The sifting panel constantly comes out of its position making it useless. The collection bin sensor often does not warn you about it being full, and it will just smear it’s contents across the entirety of the rotating spheres exterior. Which, thanks to the magnetic cover, can go unnoticed, visually at least…Overall, there’s not really anything good that I could say about this automatic litterbox.

I have three cats, one of them a senior. I have a nice litter space in my basement storage room with a Litter Robot 4, but my senior cat now needs a litter box upstairs as well. I didn’t have two Litter Robots kinda money, and the hallway I have this in is too small for a big ole Litter Robot anyway, so after months of looking at questionable fly-by-night dropshipping options and seeing horror stories about unsafe automatic boxes, I saw this one by a brand I actually recognize, at a price point that seemed more sensible for a secondary litter box, and snapped it up instantly. Of course, now all the cats prefer it, but what can you do!This bad sally does periodically malfunction and decide to only spin halfway, and I find the button to add litter doesn’t seem to work to turn on the add litter function 95% of the time so I have to unplug it and plug it back in and do a hard reset when I add litter, but honestly, for the price I really don’t mind! My cats all use it happily, it is roomy enough for my big 14 lb orange cat, and with three cats using it regularly I’d say I have to empty out the drawer maybe twice a week? And it doesn’t require proprietary bags, which is a huge bonus! We have municipal compost that takes cat litter, so I just line the drawer with the larger size compost bin bags and that makes my life super easy. The only thing I wish was that the little lip at the bottom of the drum was a bit taller because my cats do kick a fair bit of litter out over it, and sometimes when it spins litter clumps will fall out the front, but once again for the price I really don’t mind.It was easy to put together, with clear instructions and well-labeled pieces that all clicked together like a total breeze. I put it together by myself in less than a half hour, I’d say, and the app was easy to set up to. It has a small footprint for my crowded upstairs hall, is attractive with its little wooden legs, and is a cat-safe design that spins side to side not front to back like a lot of other models at this price point that have been known to injure cats.It definitely doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the Litter Robot 4 and the construction isn’t as “solid” and contained, but genuinely, I’ve been very happy with it. The app works well, and the box low enough the ground my senior cat can still enter it easily although he is still spry enough to get up onto his cat tree and furniture so if your cat struggles with even small jumps you might prefer the Litter Robot with its built in step up. I don’t regret this purchase at all, and think it was well worth the price I paid for it.
