Superior to kibble dog food
This is a convenient way to feed a quality raw food to my dogs. I admit that I use it as a topper to their kibble, as the cost is high per pound. It is competitively priced in its category, however.

Solved tummy issues
I do not love the size of this for the price. However, I get it for my small Maltese poodle to keep his tummy healthy and clean. Other dog foods are so bad and were making him sick. I switched to this and wet it with water and he loves it. And it’s not too hard for him to chew. It’s definitely a healthier option if your fur baby is having tummy problems and not so healthy stools.

Convenient
The pieces are more broken up than I’d like to see, but even in its pulverized state it is still edible and my puppy likes it. It’s easy to store because it’s lightweight, and it’s easy to feed because the only thing we add to it is some warm water to rehydrate it.

Disappointing purchase
I purchased Primal’s raw, frozen dog food in various forms from beef, chicken lamb, etc. So I thought I would try the freeze dried kibble. I purchased a bag as I give freeze dried liver, chicken, bison, lamb kibble to my dogs as a treat after they eat their raw meat. However, I was very disappointed in that bag every time I would try to pull out a handful to give to the dogs 50% of the bag is powder. This was a big disappointment for me, cause I give it as a treat needless to say the powder is not something I care to scatter on my floor.Yes, I could sprinkle that on the dogs food but I would much rather have well formed freeze dried bits like Nutra bites. So if you’re looking for something to sprinkle on their existing food, then it may be OK but just know half of the bag comes powdered. Until they fix this issue, I will not be purchasing this product again.

I recently got a new pup. Previous owner was feeding Puppy Chow so I immediately switch her to Primal for puppies. The first day she gobbled it down, which I think it was because her body needed the nutrition she wasn’t getting from the other food. Since she isn’t an overeater I leave plenty in the bowl so she has access to as much as she wants. From day one she never had any issues with diarrhea or an upset stomach. I believe Primal will be a dog food we will continue to use unless our vet says otherwise.

Now You See It; Now You Don’t 😀
My 3month old puppy was raised by the breeder on “raw”. I mean raw meat, chicken legs, thighs, turkey necks and such. Well, I pick up this bundle of joy and guess what? He hates kibble. No matter how much I pay for kibble.So, I decided to try this Primal product since it’smarketed as a freeze-dried raw dry food (kibble in the raw). Bingo. Pup absolutely loves it. I fill his bowl up and he gets after it. His bowl is empty a few minutes later. Hence “now you see it, now you don’t” in the title of this review.

Great food
My dog absolutely loves this dog food. This is the only food that I have been able to purchase and he will eat consistently. I love the quality ingredients and convenience of feeding “raw” without having to refrigerate. The only thing I don’t like is the amount of crumbs left at the bottom of the bag when done, but I save those and sprinkle on his food, or plain Greek yogurt for his snack.
