Finally! A pheromone diffuser system designed for bunnies.
—–> See 10/14/2025 update below!Original review:Let me start with after receiving 1 Starter Kit and 1 bottle of Transport Spray as part of the Amazon Vine Customer Review program, I have since purchased 4 more Starter Kits, 2 more bottles of Transport Spray, and 4 Stick Diffuser Refills. To say I think this is an exceptional product would be an understatement!I am familiar with pheromone sprays and diffusers for cats and dogs, but I had never seen one for rabbits before. Before using it, I showed it to my veterinarian and asked his opinion. He has seen success with pheromones for cats and dogs, so he had no reason to believe this might not be an option for rabbits. He also did not identify anything that might pose a concern. So after my vet’s consideration, I proceeded to try out the pheromone starter kit with my 3 pet rabbits. One is a very senior 14 year old disabled tiny dwarf boy (he can’t get around on his own anymore) that weighs 2 lbs, the other 2 are 18 month old sisters that are about 4.5 lbs each. All are free-roam house rabbits. The younger girls are chewing machines. These mini buzz-saws chew everything – carpets, furniture legs, upholstery, blankets, you get the idea. But I don’t hold it against them, it is their nature and my choice to have them as part of my household – much like many homes have cats and dogs.My primary reason for trying this product was to try to relieve any stress my senior bunny may have been under. I set up the diffuser sticks in the family area the bunnies share with us. I did notice what seemed like less stress driven behavior from the old-man, less chewing on his leg, less picking at his bedding, just a general calmness about him after only a few days. But those observations are subjective, and some may dismiss it being connected to the introduction of the Bunny Secure pheromone into the environment (by the way, there was no discernible fragrance for humans in the room). I was not paying attention to the 2 younger rabbits in our household with respect to the presence of the diffuser sticks.About 5 days after introducing the diffuser sticks into our family area, I realized that the amount of destruction inflicted by the destructo-twins was suddenly almost non-existant. Yes, still some pulling of threads on the carpet, but chewing on the fabric of the couch, the legs of tables, putting holes in plush blankets had all but stopped almost entirely. We were not looking for these results or even paying much attention to the destructive tendencies of the 2 younger bunnies; we had accepted it as “their” personalities. So when we realized something had changed and their destructiveness had gone way down in a very short period of time, we knew it had to be the introduction of the Bunny Secure pheromone.I now have a diffuser jar set up in our family area 24/7 and another in my bedroom where the old-man spends the night. The one in my room is sealed in a large zipper bag during the day and opened over night, allowing the oil to last up to 2 months in that diffuser. The one in our family area lasts between 25-35 days depending on the ambient temperature and humidity. I realize to continue with the Bunny Secure in the family area 24/7 means purchasing 12 refills/year (18 refills/year including the diffuser used only half-days in my bedroom) but I consider that a reasonable cost for the comfort and health of my bunnies. In my household, the results speak for themselves! Also thumbs up for the fact that it uses diffuser sticks to release the pheromone into the environment, and no plug in that uses electricity or creates a possible fire risk like some other diffusers designed for cats and dogs.—–> Update 10/14/2025More evidence that these pheromones work on my free roam rabbits.I’ve noticed lately small amounts of destructive activity that we thought were a thing of the past. Not any one big thing, but small recurrences of some of their old behaviors. I then noticed that my jar of SecureBunny oil was STILL half full, and it had been over 30 days.My mistake was the last time I added oil, I reused the same reed sticks (they didn’t seem like they needed to be replaced with new ones) and upon further inspection I found the sticks discolored, clogged with oil, and “fuzzy” with rabbit fur that stick to them from the air.Although there was oil in the jar, the clogged sticks were not diffusing the pheromone. Just like when we accidentally noticed the pheromone was working, we now noticed when it wasn’t!New sticks installed now, and from now on, new sticks at every refill.SecureBunny absolutely works, and when it stops defusing because the oil has run out or the reed diffusers are clogged, there is a tangible and noticeable change in the bunny activity in our home…

    Works well
Oh my! My dogs normally have anxiety when it thundered. After setting this up, they all looked up and woofed gently once; but, no one was frantic! This really works! And it does not smell to me. Very easy to set up. Considering its use- very economical!

    Life Changer For Us
I have a bonded pair but within the first our mal cat started expressing aggressive behavior towards our female cat which is very calm and non aggressive. We’ve talked to vet about it and tried various calming methods, sprays, gummies but they didn’t help. As I was looking for an alternative that you do not have to plug in this item seemed like a valid alternative.I was unable to get the lid off and had to ask my husband to open it. As for effectiveness:Since the day after I put out this diffuser my male cat stopped mounting my female cat, he hasn’t shown any form aggression (yes he has been fixed since we adopted them). I no longer have to pick up any patches of fur. I am not sure if this works other cats but it definitely helped us. I wouldn’t use it for vet visit or anything since it appears to be for at home use.

    It’s ok
I gave this three stars because I can’t really say that it had much of an effect on my puppy.

Lasted for around 5 weeks for us
I put this on our coffee table which is in the center of the living room and about 2 feet off the ground. This is where the whole family (2 adults & 3 cats) spends most of our time, so we thought this would be a nice, central spot.We have 3 cats: a boy and girl that are littermates and are 9 yrs old, and another boy who is 14. (We adopted all 3 as kittens.) The brother and sister get along great and will play together/eat meals in the same area without issue, and the 2 boys mostly get along fine, but the girl and the old man do NOT get along— even after 9 years of living together. I’ve tried pheromones in the past (the ones with the plug in diffusers) and didn’t really feel like they did much, but I guess things didn’t get worse so that’s a win. (The biggest perceivable difference in inter-cat relations, I think, came from things like providing more scratching spots and beds, and especially from providing tunnels and avenues behind furniture so that they could avoid confrontation in places like the hallway where they have no choice but to cross paths.) But it’s hard to say definitively whether or not the pheromones had an effect, for obvious reasons. What I CAN say for sure is that this little bottle that was supposed to be a 30 day supply actually ended up lasting about 5 weeks. For most of that time the temperatures were 75-85°F during the day and our apartment doesn’t have air conditioning, so evaporation would have been at a maximum. It has no scent which is always great, and I really like that because it doesn’t have to be plugged into an outlet it’s not relegated to the outskirts of any given room, and instead can be placed right in the middle, maximizing the evenness of the distribution. So for those reasons I give it 4 stars.Whether or not it works will be up to the individual to observe and decide, but the lack of dependence on an outlet and the lasting power of over a month certainly makes this option an excellent value, especially for anyone that has had good results with pheromones on the past.

    These work omg!!
I was on the fence about giving these a shot, but I read the reviews and so I decided to. I’ve been in my wits end with my eldest cat because he just would pee in my bathroom every day. I put these diffuser rods in my bathroom and it immediately stopped him overnight. I haven’t had a problem in the bathroom since I started using them and I plan on buying more for around the house. He especially likes to pee near the window where he’s able to see other cats that are outside so I’m hoping that these have the same effect in other areas of the home.
