Works as advertised with the correct litter
WOW! After researching all the self cleaning automatic litter boxes, I finally found one that meets all my needs, and my cats too. We previously used wood pellets with the Breeze system, and with four cats I had to empty it four times a day because the urine would smell and be awful. It was frustrating, but at least it didn’t track everywhere, which was still better than having sand all over the hard floors and stuck to everyones feet that walks by.My goal was to find a pellet that clumps to hold the urine odor, and then find an automatic litter box that could sift through those pellets. It took me days to find the right clumping pellet, and then many more days to find a machine that could handle it. These machines are far too expensive for trial and error, so I had to be sure before buying. With a little common sense and a lot of research, I finally solved all my problems with this auto self-cleaning box and the litter I chose (see my photos). It works great! No more smell, no more tracking, and no more scooping every day. Everything falls into the large bottom tray. We’re on day three now with absolutely no odor. The tray is starting to fill up, so I’m curious to see how many days we can go before emptying it. With four cats, I’m guessing around five days, which is still great.I do want to point out that this machine is designed for larger litter, as stated in the listing. So when people say the rake doesn’t reach the bottom, that’s because it isn’t supposed to—the rake doesn’t need to touch the base when using larger pellets. Also, keep in mind that most clumping litters can stick to the bottom if the clump is still too wet. Once it dries, it usually comes loose and falls on its own. For that reason, setting the box to clean on a longer delay can help the dried pee clumps fall into the waste bin instead of sticking.I’ve also read that some people use non-stick spray (like cooking spray) or sprinkle baking soda on the bottom to help prevent sticking, though I haven’t tried those yet. And finally, make sure you use enough litter so the urine has plenty of pellets to absorb into before it reaches the bottom. My other piece of advice is to keep the machine on manual mode while your cats are getting used to the new system. You don’t want them getting spooked by the box cleaning itself. 3 our of my 4 cats needed about a day to decide whether they could trust it. When I turned it on the first time, they were startled, and even when they just peeked inside, the motion sensor would activate the cleaning cycle after 5 minutes of them just investigating it.Three out of four are comfortable with it now, but it definitely took some time. I should’ve kept it on manual from the beginning until they were all fully adjusted. Our youngest, who’s five months old, is still a bit skeptical, but I’m sure he’ll come around once he sees the others using it confidently. The app offers both auto and manual controls. In manual mode, the box won’t clean until you press the button—either in the app or on the unit itself. In auto mode, you can set how many minutes you want it to wait before starting a cleaning cycle, which is really convenient. For now, I’m keeping it in manual mode until all the cats are completely comfortable, but I plan to switch it to auto in a few days once the younger one adjusts. Also, the step stool really isn’t helping at all. My cats just jump right over it, they don’t want to use it. I think the grid pattern on it might scare them and it is not a solid step stool, it keeps falling apart because the lid isn’t secured. When they jump out, if they land on the edge, the whole thing flips over and the lid comes off, so it’s pretty much useless and just scares them more. The stool was a good idea in theory but not this one do they like, but my cats don’t like the step stool at all, so for now it’s just pushed off to the side.Oh, and for anyone wondering whether this will work with wood pellets that don’t contain any clumping ingredients, the answer is yes… and maybe no. The machine can sift through the bigger wood pellets just fine—they’re about the same size as the clumping pellets I’m using now (see my photos). However, since urine simply runs through regular wood pellets without clumping, that could create issues and definitely needs more testing. I did try mixing the two types of pellets to save money, and it can work depending on the ratio, but more experimenting is needed to find the best balance for cost and performance. I also read that adding corn starch to the regular non clumping wood pellets may work but i have not experimented with this yet. it may work or just make a mess. don’t know until i try it. For now I am using a clumping wood pellet until i experiment to save money. At least it’s working for now but it’s going to cost more in the long run using a specialized clumping pellet. So far really happy with with the machine and the clumping pellet I am using with it. Hope this helps!

    STAY AWAY FROM THIS LITTERBOX!
the app is not great- ill update this review once ive had the litterbox for a couple months.UPDATE!Litterbox broke after two weeks.Didn’t detect cat inside- glitches out. Stays in the cleaning position. Even when it would “clean” the Urine clump would never fall into the waste basket (see pic) Won’t rest etc. total waste of time, money and now I have this giant smelly contraption that I have to figure out how to return.Do not buy this product.

Has some quirks and I am still figuring out if I like it
When I first got the box, I knew getting my cats to use the box I was going to be an uphill battle, because I have 2 15.5-year-old cats that are 9 and 12 lbs. I knew older cats don’t like change. Plus, the litter area is smaller than they are used to having. Nevertheless, I set it up and it mostly went fine but I did find the tray very hard to insert and remove especially with the bag installed. I fixed that problem by adding beeswax to the runners on the bottom of the box. I also had a problem with the box getting stuck during its first clean cycle, but I realized that it was too close to a wall, so I just pulled it out from the wall. It hasn’t had that problem since then. After 2 weeks, my cats are only using the box around 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time they are going on the puppy wee pads I setup in the areas they mess in because I forget/unable to clean their box after ever use. I also found out that that it occasionally doesn’t detect a cat even though the cat has used the box leaving it dirty. I know this because I can see a mess in the box, but the usage was never logged in the software resulting in the box never going into cleaning mode. This problem is especially annoying since I bought the box because my cats are very fussy about having a clean litter box. However, if I reset the box, it starts detecting the cats again. To avoid this problem, I am doing a morning routine of:1. Pushing the clean button2. Checking the litter tray and emptying if needed3. Add more litter, usually just a little bit4. Resetting the box using the software on my phone. (I find using the phone to reset the box really annoying instead of there just being a button on the box.)So far, this routine has solved the problem of detection, but the cats are still not using the box consistently. As for cleaning effectiveness, it usually does an okay job of removing the #1 messes but occasionally it does stick. I have just set the cleaning delay to 10 minutes so hopefully that will work. Unfortunately, since my cats are larger their #2s don’t completely land in the litter so I have still have to scoop the leftovers on the side of the box after a cleaning cycle. As for quality of the box’s construction, I haven’t had a problem with anything breaking and the box seems strong enough to support the weight of my cats without wobbling.I conclusion, I find myself still checking the box as much if not even more than before I got the box. Therefore, I cannot recommend this box based on my experience, but I can imagine that this would be a good product for someone with younger smaller cats.

    Worth it
Very much worth the spend. We have a multi cat household, and our cats are predominantly outside in the barn, but my husband and I have fallen in love with a kitten we found in a field. This little kitten is solely an indoor cat with no desires to ever go outside like our other cats.My husband decided to order this litter box and you would have no idea there’s a cat living in this home. It’s a very quiet Box, exceptionally neat, and tidy, easy to put together, and works like a dream.

    Stopped
I was very excited to use this litter box and help me with less cleaning. However, after the first use, it stopped working. The drum jammed and it wouldn’t go back normal. The reviews were promising, but I guess I got a faulty one.
