Works alright
The case feels solidly built. The rubber that covers the steel cable looks like a solid piece from end to end. I’ve used it for two walks and the dual function or the brake button is nice when it works. It seems like it is out of adjustment-when I try to depress it, the button’s bottom stops it by hitting the case making me forcibly push harder does make it function. This might be ok if I still had my old timer dog but not helpful with an active 2 month old pup

As good as it gets
I can’t believe how strong this leash is, it is surprisingly tough, yet smooth. It’s literally like a ribbon in that it’s flat, very thin and about three quarter of an inch wide. When I first received this leash I thought it was a waste, I was wrong. Not only is the leash material strong, it extends and retracts incredibly smooth. The way it is designed – the handle having an opening for a hand to fit into, the button on top to stop or lock the amount of leash needed … it’s all so functional and easy to use.Its amazing how long this leash is, I won’t say too long, but I haven’t needed all the length available, I know I didn’t have to get the one with twenty-six feet on it, but I have it if needed.I have a large dog, Great Pyrenees / Caucasian Shepard, and she can pull when I’m walking her and I haven’t had any problems with this leash keeping her under control. The locking / stopping mechanism works when needed, as well as letting it free wheel. Of course I have to pull the leash by hand when she is on it, but it recoils smoothly.Included with the leash is a choker, which is a great item to have, it just makes the process much easier rather than digging through her fur to find her collar. Also included is a dispenser for scooper bags that attach to the bottom of the plastic handle, which thank goodness I don’t need because we walk in areas away from homes and sidewalks.I can’t think of anything I would change on this leash, it is well designed, good quality and I think it’s well worth the money. I highly recommend this leash if you are looking for a high quality retractable leash, it’s incredibly strong. One last comment… I have several leashes around the house and half the time I can’t find the one I’m looking for – the good one. With this leash, it’s just hard to misplace, it is fairly large and a substantial item, much easier to find and I keep up with it better because it’s so nice.

Don’t waste your money
I purchased two pet retractable dog leashes for my two Pomeranians and I was very happy to notice that This product is very sturdy and durable and a very easy to use however about two weeks later the locks started getting very hard to push down so I decided to replace them both since I was starting to get the same issue with the second one and I was still with in the day 30day exchange period and the new leaches we’re working just fine but after about 3weeks later the leashes locks starts getting very hard to press until eventually the locks stop working all together so now I have to purchase new retractable dog leashes but I will not be purchasing this pet retractable dog leash

Holding up great against my 90 lb chaos machine
Using this with my 90 lb pit/german shepherd mix who’s 18 months old and still very much in his “test every boundary” phase. So far, it’s been solid. The leash extends smoothly and retracts reliably, even when he suddenly changes direction or tries to launch himself at a bird or leaf or shadow.The chew-proof cable is no joke. He’s gotten it in his mouth a couple times and instantly gave up. It’s sturdy without being bulky, and the handle is comfortable even when there’s tension from a sudden pull.I like the 26 ft range since it gives him space to wander without me having to unclip him at the park. And the brake/lock is responsive enough that I don’t feel out of control when he decides to bolt.If you’ve got a strong dog that doesn’t always walk like a perfect angel, this setup actually holds its own. Good build, good feel, and the added poop bag holder is a nice little extra.I will say though, the latching mechanism occasionally gets stuck and you’ve got to flip it back and forth to get it to unjam, which is annoying, but – overseas, mass produced product, you get what you expect out of it.
